She was dying, but then...

She had just turned 30. She was a wife and a mother, and she was fighting for her life.

Days after her doctor admitted her to the hospital, she began having problems breathing. Although she pressed the call button for the nurse, no one responded.

Panicked, she realized that she was dying in a hospital bed—and no one knew. As her breathing became more labored, she began to lose consciousness. She was helpless, yet she desperately wanted to live to see her young daughter and husband again.

Within seconds of her panic, a supernatural peace flooded over her. God impressed this promise clearly on her heart: “If you awake and are in heaven, I am with you. If you awake and are in this hospital bed, I am with you. Either way, I am just as close to you.”

With that promise ringing in her ears, she put her future in God’s hands. Then through eyelids barely cracked, she saw the elevator doors slide open in the hall outside her room. Out walked her pastor! By the time he reached her bedside, she drifted into unconsciousness. But because of his quick response her life was saved.

What crisis are you facing right now? If you can’t think of one, just listen to the nightly news and they will supply a crisis for you! From a human perspective it seems like the world is falling apart. As followers of Jesus we do not have to panic. He is with us. He will help us if we only ask Him and are willing to do things His way. Did you catch that? God is with us either way, but to experience peace that passes understanding we must be willing to do things His way. Are you willing?

Your view of God really matters…

God is with you right here, right now. If you aren’t experiencing the power and peace of His presence it’s not because He’s not there. Ask yourself this question: “What attribute of God am I struggling to believe is true in this circumstance?” Are you struggling to trust His love, His faithfulness, His power, His sovereignty, His mercy…? Talk with God about it and ask Him to help you trust in Him and to experience His presence no matter what is happening in your life or the nation.

Read God’s Word Today…

Isaiah 43:1-3Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are Mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.”

GOD, because You are everywhere all the time, I know You are always with me.
