Our passion is to help you know who God really is and how you truly can experience the joy and peace Jesus promised, every minute of every day...regardless of your circumstances.
We also believe God calls His people to be salt and light in the culture, but many of us are living as functional atheists. It's no wonder the culture is descending into darkness. It's time to turn up the light! We are here to help!
Of course we hope you read the book, GOD, Who Are You Anyway? But if not ours, there are other great books out there that can help you know God. Our earnest prayer is that you will seek to know God better every day and to live each moment in that confident reality. Again, you are not alone in the journey. We are here to help.
My dad's bio (below) is impressive. But to me, his most significant achievement was that he actually lived what he taught. He was the same at home as he was before crowds. The love of God he proclaimed in public, he demonstrated in the privacy of our home... even when his "active child" (me) constantly tested him!
Dad wrote the book, GOD: Discover His Character, at the end of his life. We are re-publishing it as, GOD, Who Are You Anyway?. He said he believed it would be one of his greatest contributions to the body of Christ. This, from the man who penned The Four Spiritual Laws (more than 2 billion printed to date) and produced The Jesus Film (7 billion viewings to date)! Why? Bill Bright knew you can only trust someone to the degree to which you know them. This includes God. And if you don't fully trust God, the Christian life will not work for you. It's that simple.
I have re-edited the book and added some updated material to make it more interactive for the reader and small groups. My name is on the cover because of those changes, but make no mistake, this is Bill Bright's message. It is the key to his amazing life, put on paper so others can know and experience the God that he knew and experienced so deeply.
My dad didn't want his deep relationship with God to be the exception in the body of Christ. He longed for it to be the rule. It can be if God's people will know Him intimately so they can trust Him deeply.
About the Authors:
Bill Bright grew up on a ranch in rural Oklahoma. Like his father and grandfather before him he did not see God as relevant to his life. The only thing that mattered was money and success. He moved to Hollywood as a young man and was well on his way to making his millions. However, one day a businessman he greatly admired said something that startled him, “Making money is great but the most important thing in my life is Jesus Christ.” Intrigued, Bill started studying the life of Jesus. A few months later, convinced Jesus was who he claimed to be, he became an ardent follower.
Over the next 50 years Bill Bright’s resume grew into a testament of what God can do through one person who commits to following Jesus, holding nothing back. In 1951 he launched Campus Crusade for Christ at UCLA, which became the largest missionary organization in the 20th century (27,000 full-time staff, 250,000 trained volunteers in every country on earth). He wrote The Four Spiritual Laws, an evangelistic booklet with over two billion copies in print around the globe. He was the impetus behind the creation of The Jesus Film, which has been translated into over 1,600 languages and viewed by an estimated three billion people in every nation around the globe. The Guinness Book of World Records says it is the most translated film in history.
What most people do not know is what occurred behind the scenes revealing his character, humility, integrity and compassion. Although he traveled 80% of the time for 40 years he almost always flew economy class in order to be a faithful steward of God’s money. For the last 50 years of his life he never owned the home he lived in. He was never alone with a woman who was not his wife. He gave away all his retirement savings to help tell the Russian people about Jesus Christ. He won the $1 million Templeton Prize for Progress in Religion and gave it all away 30 minutes later. For years he quietly fasted one day each week and gave away the money he saved from fasting to help the poor.
In 2003 he died at the age of 81 after a four year battle with lung disease. In his final days, when asked how he was feeling, Bill always sincerely responded, “I’m rejoicing in the Lord!” His self-chosen epitaph on his grave sums up his life the best: “A Slave of Jesus by choice.”
What was the real genius of Bill Bright? It cannot be found in his accomplishments or character, though they are impressive. The genius of Bill Bright was his view of God. It is what enabled him to not just talk about Jesus, but to model what it looks like to be a true follower of Jesus.
Brad Bright is the youngest son of Bill and Vonette Bright, the founders of Campus Crusade for Christ, now known as Cru in the United States.
Brad graduated from Wheaton College in 1982 with a B.A. in political science and history. He entered national politics as a result of the Watergate scandal and studying the life of William Wilberforce, the British Parliamentarian credited with ending the slave trade in the British Empire. During the 80’s he served as an aide in both the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives.
At the age of 31, he joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ, firmly convinced that the only solution to society’s problems must begin with the spiritual dimension of life. He spent his initial years on staff ministering to college students at the University of Washington in Seattle. After that he served as the first National Director of Pinnacle
Forum, a strategy to help reach and equip cultural gatekeepers in every community of America.
Today, Brad serves as the president and CEO of Bright Media Foundation, an affiliate of Campus Crusade for Christ. The vision of Bright Media is to help people see God as Bill Bright saw God, so they can see God do what Bill Bright saw God do—the IMPOSSIBLE!
He is the author of GOD is the Issue, a book to help Christians shrewdly and unapologetically reframe cultural issues in order to make God the issue in relevant ways-----thus driving the culture’s view of God. The book is predicated on his father’s statement, “We can trace all our human problems to our view of God.”
In 2016 he co-authored Your 7 Duties As A Christian Citizen, a booklet to help Christians more effectively influence American culture through the election process.
Brad has also co-authored children's books with his wife, Kathy, to help children get to know who God really is and why it matters.
Brad speaks at churches conferences, retreats and other events. His passion is to make God THE issue and inspire followers of Jesus to really know God and make Him known.
He and his amazing wife, Kathy, live in Orlando. They have two incredible children, Keller and Noël.
